Blackpink‘s Jennie has recently faced backlash from Chinese netizens on Weibo, following allegations of a poor attitude during a Hong Kong concert. Fans have accused her of not giving her 100% during her performances and having a poor attitude toward Chinese fans.
This controversy quickly became the #1 trending search on Weibo, with almost 1 billion views. A clip attacking Jennie even garnered over 13 million views and 1.2 million likes.
In response to the backlash, fans have called on YG Entertainment, Jennie’s management company, to take necessary action against these “antis” (anti-fans). While the entertainment company has yet to publicly address the situation, fans continue to show support for Jennie and defend her against the accusations.
One fan said, Jennie must sue the Weibo blogger with 4M followers, he/she is the one who started this cyber-bully campaign on her birthday.
It is important to note that celebrities are often subject to online harassment and it is not right to bully or harass anyone online. Jennie’s fans have the right to defend her and to ask for appropriate actions to be taken by her management company!
